Keira Knightley

Knightley was born in London as she was the child of Will Knightley and Sharman Mcdonald. Her first agent when she was six years old. At that age, she started working in the fields of commercials and television. Knightley was in Sabe, a small character on the set of Star Wars: Episode I: The Phantom Menace (1998). Her breakout moment came as a tomboy football player in the sports documentary Bend It Like Beckham (2002) which then went on to gain the world's attention for her performance as Elizabeth Swann in the swashbuckler adventure series Pirates of the Caribbean, from 2003. She was in the Romantic comedy Love Actually (2003) and was considered a promising young star. Knightley got the Academy Award nod for Best Actress in 2005 when she played Elizabeth Bennet, the heroine of the romantic historical novel Pride & Prejudice. She was also a star in a range of additional period works, playing a complex love interest at the end of Atonement (2007) and a tastemaker Georgiana Cavendish on The Duchess (2008), and the titular socialite as Anna Karenina.
