Antonina Shevchenko

Antonina Shevchenko is an Kyrgyzstani Muay-Thai MMA fighter from Peru, and mixed martial arts athlete competing for the UFC at the flyweight division, is currently in Kyrgyzstani. She is the younger sister of the former UFC Flyweight champion and fellow UFC competitor Valentina. Antonina Shevchenko began her professional journey as an Muay Thai boxer. Her debut was in 2003, at the IFMA World Championship Tournament. Shevchenko was the winner at the tournament and defeated Suzane Milliner in a unanimous vote. Antonina followed it up and took home a silver medal in 2007, a bronze in 2008, a gold medal in 2011, and was the year-end 2016 IFMA Amateur Muay Thailand World Champion. Antonia's professional journey began in 2003. In 2012 she won the WKC K-1 Light Welterweight World Championship, in 2016, the Lion Fight Lightweight Championship and in 2016, the WMC World Championships. Antonina took on Isa Tidblad Kskikangas last time at the Phoenix Fighting Championship. The fight was won by unanimous decision. Antonina Schevchenko broke her professional MMA records in 2002, when she fought Anara Bazanova during the KFK Championship of Kyrgystan. She won via second-round TKO followed by 2 more fights at WXF X-Impact World Championships to achieve a record of 3-0. Shevchenko was absent from MMA to focus on kickboxing. She made her comeback with a win against Anissa Haddaoui at Phoenix FC 3, 2017. Shevchenko won against Anissa in an unanimous decision. She went on to defeat Valerie Domergue during Phoenix FC 4. She left the promotion in the year 2018 and joined Dana White's Contender Series in 2018. Shevchenko was able to take on Jaimelene Nievera as part of Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series. Antonina utilized superior strikes to TKO Nievera by knees to her body while in the final clinch. Antonina's UFC contract was re-extended in the wake of this win. Antonina was able to make her UFC debut during the TUF Heavy Hhitters Finale, against Ji Yeon Kim. Shevchenko took the win via unanimous decision but losing her following fight to Roxanne Modafferi via split decision. Antonina was able to bounce back from the loss, and defeated Lucie Pudilova at UFC on ESPN Covington vs. Lawler via second-round rear-naked choke, and was awarded the fight of the night reward during the bout. Shevchenko won her first three bouts, but lost her next three fights to Katlyn Cahookagian, Andrea Lee and Ariane Lipski.
